As your child's speech pathologist, we will work with you to develop a plan in helping your child reach their full potential. We incorporate lots of fun activities and play into our sessions so your child will be motivated to be active participants in therapy. We will provide you with strategies to incorporate learning new skills through every day routines.
We do not follow one type of feeding program at Communication Cabin. Instead, we develop an individualized program to best meet your child's needs. We use aspects of the Merry Mealtime Approach, Food Chaining, Sequential Oral Sensory Approach (SOS), and the Sensory-Motor Approach to help your child be successful in feeding therapy.
Orofacial Myology is the study and treatment of oral and facial muscles as they relate to speech, chewing, swallowing, and dentition. We treat orofacial myofunctional disorders which include: open-mouth posture, incorrect resting position of the tongue, tongue thrust, and thumb/finger sucker. We believe many feeding and speech issues have underlying motor issues. We will work with children and adults.
